My name is Kakie and you might say I have a food blog problem. It’s sort of an addiction. My love for food blogs started out as a way to pass the time in between writing papers and studying for exams in grad school. Now food blogs are the source for the majority of the meals I cook. I have binders filled with recipes, hundreds of recipes bookmarked for some rainy day, and yes, friends, I even write out our weekly meal plan.
One day, my loving
boyfriend husband, Tim, who puts up with all of the hours I spend looking at recipes, suggested that I start my own food blog. I am no Martha Stewart, but I can follow a recipe pretty well, so I thought, why not?
You should know that the first meal Tim ever “cooked” for me was fully prepared at Whole Foods, and then reheated in his oven. And the first meal we ever cooked together, I burnt myself putting our pizza in the oven. But, we’re learning. And improving. We might actually be on the verge of inviting our friends over for a home-cooked meal.
In the meantime, after a long day at work, we’ll come home, pour ourselves a glass of wine, turn on some music, prepare our dinner, and dance together in our kitchen.
After spending almost my entire life in the great state of Louisiana, I packed up my things in a U-Haul and moved to Colorado for graduate school. Almost immediately, I fell in love with the mountains. And then with Tim. I finished school, found a job that inspires me, and began to think of Colorado as home.
